1. Mission and Vision of KODISA Foundation
KODISA Foundation, formerly known as the Korea Distribution Science Association, was established in 1999 as a non-profit academic foundation to advance scholarly knowledge and contribute to society through academic publishing, research support, education, conferences, and scholarly exchange.
KODISA Foundation supports academic activities in distribution science and related interdisciplinary fields, including business, management, economics, sustainability, technology, artificial intelligence, foodservice, wellbeing, sports science, Korean studies, fashion innovation, and other convergence-based academic areas.
Rather than functioning solely as a professional association, KODISA Foundation serves as an institutional academic platform that owns, manages, and publishes peer-reviewed scholarly journals, supports academic conferences and proceedings, and promotes cooperation among researchers, editors, reviewers, institutions, and academic communities.
KODISA Foundation has developed a broad domestic and international academic network. Through this network, the Foundation supports scholarly communication, peer review, editorial development, academic conferences, and the dissemination of reliable research findings.
Since its establishment, KODISA Foundation has continuously invested in the development and quality improvement of its academic journals and conference activities. KODISA Journals include journals indexed in domestic and international scholarly databases, depending on the status of each individual journal. The Journal of Distribution Science (JDS), one of the journals published by KODISA Foundation, has been indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science according to its respective indexing status.
KODISA Foundation also supports the KODISA International Conference on Business and Economics and related academic proceedings. Selected past conference proceedings have been indexed in international conference citation databases, where applicable.
The long-term vision of KODISA Foundation is to strengthen the academic quality, ethical standards, international visibility, and social contribution of its journals and scholarly activities. KODISA Foundation seeks to develop its journals and academic programs into internationally recognized platforms in their respective fields.
2. Ownership, Publishing Responsibility, and Academic Support
KODISA Foundation owns, manages, and publishes KODISA Journals. The Foundation holds the institutional ownership, publishing responsibility, journal title rights, editorial management authority, and platform operation responsibility for KODISA Journals and related academic proceedings.
However, the copyright of individual articles published in KODISA Journals is governed by the copyright and open access policy of each journal. Unless otherwise stated, authors retain the copyright of their published articles, while granting KODISA Foundation and the relevant KODISA journal the right to publish, distribute, archive, index, and provide public access to the articles in accordance with the journal’s publishing agreement and open access policy.
KODISA Foundation manages its journals and academic activities in accordance with its public-interest mission. Revenues generated through academic publishing, conferences, publication fees, subscriptions, or related activities, where applicable, are used to support editorial operations, journal production, academic infrastructure, scholarly exchange, research ethics, educational activities, and scholarship or academic support programs.
KODISA Foundation may cooperate with academic associations, editorial groups, professional editors, publishers, and external service providers for manuscript editing, typesetting, production, online publication, XML/HTML processing, DOI registration, indexing support, and related publication services. Such cooperation does not affect the institutional ownership, editorial responsibility, or publication ethics obligations of KODISA Foundation and the relevant KODISA journal.
